The opportunity

Delaware North is currently Seeking a Vice President, Tax to join our team at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York. The Vice President, Tax will execute a comprehensive range of efforts that provide strategic leadership and operational guidance on direct and indirect tax matters, both domestic and foreign, while considering impacts across corporate tax and business objectives as well as shareholder personal tax and estate matters.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $168,700 – $239,100 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Collaborate with C-Suite and executive leadership to define and implement appropriate strategic vision for areas impacted by tax decisions, requirements, and consequences. Act as a liaison between finance and non-finance teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, maintaining key relationships across corporate, business unit, and shareholder groups. Lead an outsourced team of consultants specializing in highly technical tax-related areas.Lead the consultants toward compliance with laws and regulations balanced with business and shareholder operational needs. Provide strategic and operational guidance and lead implementations for tax and related financial business transformation efforts enhancing tax efficiency and compliance. Strategize according to existing and potential legislation while mobilizing internal and external management and lobbyists to achieve corporate and shareholder goals. Assist in strategizing and targeting growth and divestiture opportunities, including organizing efficient tax structures and outcomes often resulting in organizing legal, financial, personnel, and other structures to achieve desired tax outcomes. Oversee the development and presentation of tax and financial analysis for acquisition and investment opportunities, including financial and business due diligence, quality of earnings, and other tax-related assessments. Offer thought leadership on emerging trends and technologies in tax analytics and business intelligence. Lead the indirect tax functions, including sales, use, property, possessory interest, and others across a diverse and large number of domestic and foreign entities. Lead the audit or review of direct and indirect tax assessments and issues toward appropriate resolution. Assess financial scenarios, forecasts, and models in connection with Treasury and external lender covenants and requirements.Strategize potential paths toward compliance. Build reports and gather data through alternate means when existing systems or reports cannot provide appropriate data. More about you Minimum of 10 years of tax experience including 5 years in a senior tax leadership role.Experience with both corporate and personal tax issues is highly preferred.A CPA license is highly preferred. Knowledge of complex business models across various tax and financial structures and tax scenarios including for various hospitality-related industries. Extensive experience with financial modeling and analysis including an understanding of various investment and transaction structures and their related tax consequences. Comfort executing a plan with limited direction Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with an ability to leverage resources across a diverse organization. Knowledge of merger, acquisition, and divestiture quality of earnings processes and tax compliance processes to facilitate M, D A. This includes an understanding of acquisition and divestiture models and valuation techniques useful not only for M, D A but also for evaluating potential impacts to debt covenants, LTIP calculations, etc. Broad financial acumen across most financial areas, whether remote at sites or corporate based and ability to interpret impacts to a broad range of connected roles and responsibilities.
