VICE PRESIDENT- CFO MMG
**Hours of Work :** 40 **Days Of Week :** M-F **Work Shift :** 8X5 Day (United States of America) **Job Description :** **JOB SUMMARY** The VP of Finance & Chief Financial Officer for the Methodist Medical Group (MMG) reports to the President of MMG and serves as an integral part of the MMG leadership team. The individual plans, organizes, directs, interprets, coordinates, monitors, record and administers the financial activities of the MMG, including a $150 million operative revenue, hundreds of MMG providers, affiliated Physicians, and other entities as assigned including, but not limited to, finance, accounting, internal controls and auditing. This role works with the President of MMG, MHS Finance Executives, COO and Board of Directors to set and monitor achievement of financial goals for MMG and makes recommendations for continuing improvement of the financial health of the institution and other related entities as applicable. **Job Responsibilities:** + Manages organizational financial resources of MMG and assumes overall accountability for financial planning and fiscal policies of MMG and other organizational entities/affiliates as assigned. + Maintains all accounting records and is responsible for the development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to apprise the President of MMG, Physicians, Finance Committee and Board of Directors of operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies, trends and increased revenue possibilities. + Assures integrity of the MMG general ledger and oversees monthly and year-end financial, statistical and analytical reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. + In collaboration with the MMG leadership team, oversees coordination the annual budget process for MMG. Develops annual operating and capital budgets, authorizes expenditures, monitors performance and takes corrective action when appropriate to maintain control of financial resources. + Educates and supports MMG department managers regarding financial/budget matters. + Assures accurate and timely filing of all mandated federal and state reports. + Establishes and maintains KPI’s while ensuring accuracy and appropriate measurability. + Works with MMG Advisory Board of Directors, MHS Finance Executives, President of MMG, Physicians, Finance Committee, outside accounting firms and banking institutions on all financial aspects as it pertains to MMG. + Oversees maintaining high quality, cost-effective purchasing service agreements and programs. + Collaborates with members of senior management team, Physicians and support roles such as Human Resources, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Revenue Cycle, and other departments as necessary. + Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting the financial affairs of MMG. Remains current on law/regulation changes, recognizes implications to the organization and recommends/implements courses of action to ensure compliance. + Collaborates with the President of MMG in fiscal decision-making including, but not limited to, strategic planning, development of long and short-term goals and objectives, developing and monitoring capital, expense and revenue budgets, reviewing budget variances for approval/denial, etc. + Assumes administrative leadership with the Physician Finance Committee. Collaborates with the Finance Committee Chairperson in preparing the monthly agenda and conducting the business of the Committee. + Assumes accountability for enhancing own knowledge in new developments affecting the financial affairs of the organization through professional organizations, journals, workshops, in-services, etc. + Represents the organization in a professional manner. Promotes positive interpersonal relations and serves as a role model with all personnel. Responds to all customer requests in a courteous, professional manner. Interacts in a competent, professional manner with outside vendors and the community. **Additional Duties & Skills:** + Communicate clearly and openly. + Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment. + Be engaged and eager to build a winning team. + Collaborate with MMG leadership to develop strategic and financial plans identifying opportunities for continuing MMG expansion. + Possess extensive knowledge of value-based contracts, along with physician compensation payment structures, how payment contracts impact Physician compensation to include PSA arrangements, wRVU compensation and bonus structures. + Maintain organization and self-motivation in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. + Demonstrate ability to utilize effective decision-making and problem-solving techniques. + Work with Physicians, management, staff and external vendors independently and interdependently. + Prepare and deliver presentations before large and small groups. + Manage confrontation effectively. + Remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a fast-paced environment. **Involved With:** + Regulatory matters affecting MMG. + HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements. + Review to Legal contracts for Physicians and MMG overall. **Job Requirements:** + 10+ years’ experience in a health care organization required. + 5+ years of financial management experience required. + BS, BSc or BBA degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. + MS or MBA preferred. + Certified Public Accountant preferred. **Scope:** Scope of duties covers 89 and growing MMG ambulatory clinics. Serving as the liaison between MMG, Corporate Finance Department, and MHS. Works with the MHS leadership teams to continually foster goodwill and a collaborative relationship with the physician community in all issues pertaining to MMG.
