Position Summary:

We are looking for a Vice President or experienced Associate to contribute to the Commodity & Structured Trade Finance business by working with senior Trade Finance Origination Officers in support of closing new deals and managing existing portfolio.  This includes management of the internal approval process through engagement with related divisions such as applicable Credit approval departments, Trade Service Operations, Legal and Risk Management, Transaction Banking Division Tokyo.

Responsibilities

Manage the ongoing execution responsibilities associated with the new and existing Trade Finance portfolioInstruct bank teams on the closings including letter of credit issuance/amendment and funding of discounting transactions.Interact with RMs, credit, legal, compliance and other internal teamsFrequent interaction with middle and back office teams.Ensure transactions adhere with the banks compliance, risk and regulatory frameworks.Execute documentation and booking of transactionsProactively ensure all compliance and risk guidelines are adhered to in all transactions.Support origination of Documentary Trade Finance transactions with clients from initial pitch through to closing, with particular focus on standby letter of credit.Prepare marketing material,Evaluate transaction structure,Perform returns analysis,Prepare terms sheets,Assist with pitch books and other marketing materialAssist in the negotiation and review of legal documentation    Monitor existing portfolio for attrition and opportunities to increase utilization of existing facilities.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree is requiredA minimum of 5-7 years experience in trade finance, with emphasis on traditional trade finance / standby letters of creditTeam-oriented and strong communication skills.Analytical and ability to work under pressureStrong MS Office skills, specifically Excel.Excellent analytical and written communication skillsAbility to work in a multicultural environmentOutstanding attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously

The typical base pay range for this role is between $125K - $200k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
