What is the opportunity?

Hiring opportunities exist within RBCCM for energetic, bright, and talented individuals. The Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) team designs and executes systematic investment solutions with a wide range of clients. Solutions are typically Equity and/or Cross-Asset delivered as custom strategies or rule-based Indices. This is a relatively small but rapidly growing team that includes highly driven individuals across Trading, Structuring, Sales and Strats.

The QIS Structuring role provides the opportunity to gain in-depth, hands-on experience while working and learning alongside our experienced market professionals. In selecting candidates, we look for well-rounded individuals with a track record of outstanding academic achievement, proven technical and analytical skills and a diversity of extracurricular activities. Other essential qualities we look for include strong oral and written communication skills, leadership qualities, initiative, and the ability to play a key role as a team member in a fast-paced and challenging work environment. The QIS Structuring hire will be provided with career-building mentorship throughout. This opportunity sits within the Global Equities Group.

What will you do?

As an Institutional QIS Structurer, the aim will be to help support the development of Complex Index/Strategy solutions.

Execute the R&D process for new strategy developmentImplement Backtests and Technical Documentation for the various strategies  Help scale-up the Technology Infrastructure – Strong Programming Skills and a Quantitative Mindset requiredAsset Class Expertise – Equities, Equity Derivatives, Cross-asset Futures; Prior experience designing  Systematic Equity Vol solutions is highly desirableTechnical Skills: Python Programming, Solid experience with SQL and KDB database systemsOpen to candidates from QIS/Index teams at - Investment Banks, Index Providers, Asset Management organizationsAdvanced degree in Quantitative Finance/STEM subjects preferred

What do you need to succeed?

5 - 8 Years of Experience in Systematic Strategies/Equity Vol Solutions PreferredStrong research abilities and excellent quantitative, analytical and communication skillsExtremely motivated and able to take initiative to identify ways to add value and improve practicesDemonstrated problem-solving skills, business sense and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in high pressure environmentsProgramming – Strong Python experience required; Database Skills: SQL, KDBProficient with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointOpen to candidates from QIS/Index teams at - Investment Banks, Index Providers, Asset Management organizations

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $225,000 - $300,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
