SCOPE OF ROLE:     

     

At S:US, we are committed to a better New York with housing for all. This position offers a chance to shape services for thousands of people with behavioral and mental challenges. As the Vice President of Housing in our Behavioral Health division, you will promote person-centered services, be recovery-oriented and focus on supporting the independence of the people we serve.

 

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, you will lead our growing supportive housing portfolio of over 2,000 units. With your strong leadership abilities, you will recognize and augment the diverse strengths of staff.  You will provide support and tools to the people we serve to move them beyond diagnoses and stigma. You will be responsible for providing the vision and strategic direction to elevate service delivery and ensure quality outcomes.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience leading multiple programs across New York City and will perform with grace and sensitivity while exemplifying social and emotional intelligence. This person will employ a data-informed approach and have a demonstrated commitment to person-centered care for people who have a broad range of challenges. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of bringing projects to fruition with measured success.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Provide programmatic leadership; Develop clear, measurable divisional goals, objectives and workplans that support quality services, safety and positive outcomes for the people we serve.Lead the housing division in providing quality, innovative services. Adapt and improve service models and work with S:US staff to identify, develop and execute new models of care.Promote person-centered care that supports dignity; provide vision and direction that facilitates opportunity for all.Provide clinical, operational, and fiscal leadership to a portfolio of programs.Position agency to respond to opportunities for growth.Align and update position descriptions and performance plans.Maintain data-driven systems to support our work; establish continuity and accountability; Develop and manage robust and meaningful data collection, review and application.Ensure systems are in place to address emerging issues and prevent future instances.  Ensure consumer satisfaction, quality standards and contract requirements are being measured and addressed and that the programs are meeting expectations.Ensure all programs operate in accordance with contractual requirements and applicable regulations.Remain current on new regulations, policies, industry trends, and best practices. Suggest ways to implement and when necessary, fund.Build a strong management team: support and supervise division leaders' oversight of programs and staff.Foster strong relationships with agency support departments including IT, HR, Finance and Quality Assurance to strengthen program operations and maximize efficiency; support staff in forging these relationships.Oversee the programmatic component of budget development and management. Review spending trends and program needs. Identify new funding opportunities.Provide routine managerial oversight of programs including expenditure approvals, timesheet approval, report submission, staff hiring and performance appraisal, etc.Build and maintain relationships with various State and regulatory bodies, as well as organizations that may be able to assist S:US meet various mandates.Network with funders, partners, and other community providers, in a professional manner, to build referral relationships and develop additional resources to enhance services.Seek opportunities to promote S:US externally.Participate meaningfully (strong voice, written products) in related advocacy efforts, committees, and policy discussions that impact on the Division and the AgencyPerform other duties as required. Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

·         Strong knowledge of Supportive Housing models, managed care models and OMH, DOHMH, HASA, DHS and OASAS regulations. Strong knowledge of residential programming and HUD regulations.

·         Experience acting in senior administrative and leadership roles.

·         Experience with the financial management of multiple programs; interpretation of financial reports, and budgeting

·         Minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience in managing nonprofit programs

·         Ability to travel to all 5 boroughs of NYC

·         Master’s degree required

·         LCSW preferred
