Overview:
Prodeo Academy is an entrepreneurial and growing K-8 public charter school dedicated to developing critical thinkers and reflective leaders. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Development responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to secure philanthropic support that advances Prodeo's mission and strategic objectives. This role encompasses oversight of fundraising and donor relations to foster a culture of engagement and giving.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Planning
+ Integrated Development Strategy: Develop and implement a cohesive plan that aligns fundraising and donor relations with the school's strategic goals.
+ Executive Collaboration: Work closely with the Co-Founders and Development team to identify funding priorities and cultivate donor relationships.
+ Board & Volunteer Engagement: Actively engage the Board of Directors and volunteers in fundraising initiatives, equipping them to support development efforts.
+ Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics to assess program effectiveness, inform strategic planning, and drive continuous improvement.
Fundraising & Development
+ Major Gifts & Campaigns: Lead efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, with a particular emphasis on established relationships and fundraising experience in the Twin Cities.
+ Annual Giving: Enhance annual fund programs to increase participation and contributions from all constituent groups.
+ Planned Giving: Develop and promote planned giving opportunities to secure long-term financial support.
+ Grant Funding: Oversee the grant proposal process, ensuring alignment with institutional funding needs and priorities.
+ Digital Engagement: Leverage digital platforms and social media to engage stakeholders and promote fundraising initiatives.
Team Development & Management
+ Leadership: Lead the advancement team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
+ Staff Oversight: Directly manage and collaborate with development staff, including the Director of Development, Development Associate, Contracted Grant Writer, and Database Administrator, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals.
+ Performance Management: Establish clear goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure team success.
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
+ Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in development or advancement leadership roles, preferably within educational institutions or nonprofit organizations.
+ Proven Success: Demonstrated ability to secure major gifts and lead successful capital campaigns, with a strong track record of foundation and major gift fundraising in the Twin Cities.
+ Strategic Acumen: Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to align development activities with organizational goals.
+ Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with experience in public speaking.
+ Relationship Building: Proven talent for building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors and community leaders.
+ Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with donor management systems and digital marketing tools.
+ Mission Alignment: A deep commitment to the school's mission and values, with an understanding of the educational landscape.
Compensation & Benefits:
+ $110,000 - $150,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
