We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Enterprise Communications to lead our global communications strategy in a dynamic and evolving life sciences, applied markets, and diagnostics company. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Transformation, this senior leader will head a global team of approx. 18 employees dispersed across various regions, driving communication efforts that support growth, transformation, and engagement across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in fostering a growth mindset and driving communication strategies through complex enterprise-wide transformations.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the VP of Enterprise Communications will oversee a broad scope that includes corporate, financial/M&A, business, and employee communications, media relations/PR, community relations, and annual ESG initiatives. This leader will play a crucial role in aligning teams across a matrixed global organization, ensuring our communication efforts resonate with employees, customers, investors, and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications Leadership
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the company’s mission, values, and growth goals.
Drive a consistent brand message that enhances our reputation and market positioning within the life sciences and diagnostics industries.
Lead communications planning and execution for enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment and engagement across global teams.
Corporate, Financial, and M&A Communications
Manage all corporate and financial communications, including messaging around mergers and acquisitions, to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with corporate objectives.
Collaborate with executive leaders and the finance team to communicate business updates, quarterly results, and growth plans effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Enterprise Transformation
Act as a key architect in the company’s transformation narrative, clearly articulating strategic goals and changes across the organization.
Develop targeted communication plans that drive understanding and adoption of transformation objectives, ensuring clear, consistent messaging throughout the organization.
Work cross-functionally with senior leaders to anticipate change impacts and tailor communications to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
Employee and Business Communications
Lead internal communications to ensure clear, consistent messaging across all levels of the organization.
Build a best-in-class internal communications strategy that fosters a growth mindset and supports employee engagement, DEI, and talent development.
Media Relations and Community Engagement
Develop and maintain relationships with industry media, serve as a primary spokesperson, and manage PR efforts to enhance our public image.
Oversee community relations and manage partnerships with the Agilent Foundation, ensuring alignment with our corporate social responsibility goals.
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Reporting
Lead annual ESG communications, collaborating with relevant departments to accurately report on our sustainability, social responsibility, and governance initiatives.
Ensure that ESG reports and related messaging effectively communicate our commitment to responsible and ethical practices to stakeholders.
Crisis and Change Communication
Oversee crisis communication planning and response, ensuring readiness to address potential issues swiftly and effectively.
Lead change communications for complex projects, including M&A activity, technology implementations, and organizational restructuring, ensuring employees and stakeholders are well-informed and supported.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
10+ years of experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within life sciences, applied markets, or diagnostics sectors.
Proven experience in leading communications during large-scale global organizational transformation, ideally within complex, highly matrixed organizations.
Demonstrated expertise in building and executing global communication strategies that foster a growth mindset and adaptability in changing environments.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative approach and ability to influence across functions and levels.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
