SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Finance will oversee the corporate & shared service accounting group, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting and efficient operations. This position reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing financial statements, accounts payable (AP), payroll, accounts receivable (AR), treasury, revenue recognition, and the general ledger (GL). The VP of Finance will work closely with the operations team as the primary point of contact for financial matters, fostering a collaborative approach to achieve corporate objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Oversight:Lead and manage the corporate accounting department, ensuring efficient workflows, compliance with regulations, and adherence to company policies.Develop and mentor accounting staff, with a focus on promoting shareholder hire and advancement.Establish clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to team members.Financial Operations Management:Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, including month-end and year-end close processes.Manage AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition, treasury, and GL functions to ensure operational excellence.Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable government regulations, including the FAR.Maintain and optimize accounting systems, ensuring compliance with DCAA-approved standards.Collaboration and Communication:Act as the primary financial point of contact for the operations team, providing insights and support to achieve organizational goals.Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial operations with corporate strategy.Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient audits and compliance reviews.Regulatory Compliance:Ensure adherence to government contracting regulations, including preparation for and response to DCAA and other regulatory audits.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.Talent Development:Create training programs and professional development opportunities to build technical and leadership skills within the accounting team.Actively recruit and retain high-potential employees, with a focus on shareholder development.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and is responsible for the professional development and motivation of senior-level finance and accounting professionals through both solid and dotted-line reporting relationshipsOversee and monitor progress of the finance and accounting succession plans

MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform the job successfully, an incumbent should meet or exceed the following requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA), and CPA or Masters DegreeA minimum of ten (10) years' experience ideally gained through increasingly responsible management positions within finance.Significant experience in government contracting, including allocation strategy, compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and other government accounting requirements, such as Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon Act.Significant experience in or knowledge of various complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition using the percent complete method, accounting for intangible assets, Section 7(i) accounting, royalty accounting, deferred tax assets, compliance and reporting.Must be able to obtain and maintain Government Top Secret Clearance
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Business Management, Administration, or Finance.Mergers and acquisitions experience.Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat and Yup’ik culture.
