Job Summary and Qualifications The VP of Human Resources is responsible for directing all the people functions of Galen College of Nursing (the College). This position will provide strategic insights and planning for managing all aspects of the College’s human capital, expert professional assistance on human resources and employee relations matters. This position will work collaboratively with human resources leadership of our parent organization HCA Healthcare. A member of the CEO’s Cabinet, the VP of HR will influence and support the culture of the College through training, coaching, and development of programs to ensure all employees implement the attitudes, experiences, ethics, and values of the College. What you will do in this role: + Provide overall vision and leadership for the College and staff responsible for a range of human resources services, while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. + Be a strategic partner as a member of the Executive Leadership Team providing insight into human resource results and trends, contributing to strategic decision making, providing recommendations to leadership and guiding efforts to support organizational change. + Manage the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to support human resources operations and maximize efficiency and effectiveness. + Oversee all aspects of the company's human resources operations, including, but not limited, to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits, EEO compliance, labor relations, and organizational development. + Enhance the HR department structure for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group. + Utilize HR metrics and analytics to understand and assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives. + Provide meaningful data and analysis on HR-related key performance indicators to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement + Provide overall leadership for talent acquisition. Develop, network, and promote positive working relationships with all College hiring managers, to anticipate and understand their specific recruitment needs. Ensure compliance with established College guidelines and submission of appropriate documentation and credentials. + Proactively engage with the external community to ensure the College is recognized as an employer of choice. Maintain relationships with the appropriate external agencies and professional consultants that assist with employee assistance efforts and organizational development. + Oversee an effective on-boarding program for all new employees. + Develop and continually assess the competitiveness of all compensation and benefit programs against the relevant comparable colleges to attract and retain highly qualified and productive 02/06/17 staff. Support the administration of the annual salary review process and maintain organized system of all position descriptions. + Active involvement in the implementation and administration of employee benefit programs such as health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, workers’ compensation, employee assistance, retirement, profit sharing and other plans. + Provide ongoing reporting on employee census and implement effective employee retention strategies. This includes overseeing the maintenance of statistics and compilation of reports for the Department of Labor, Boards of Nursing, National League for Nursing, and other accrediting bodies. + Provide professional guidance related to workplace issues and challenges to employees and supervisors. + Provide leadership to ensure that the Employee Handbook is continuously updated and maintained. 16. Participate in the development of the College’s plans and programs as a strategic business partner, but, particularly, from the perspective of the impact on people. + Facilitate leaders and top management to actively promote the College’s vision, mission statement and iCARE principles. + Foster an organizational culture of teamwork, diversity, customer service, and trust through training, development, and communication; and motivate employees who are undergoing change. + Develop and implement a Human Resources Institutional Effectiveness Plan consistent with the College’s Strategic Plan. What qualifications you will need: + Bachelor’s degree is required + Master’s Degree preferred + 10+ years of experience in relevant work experience in progressive leadership required + PHR or SPHR preferred Founded over 30 years ago, Galen College of Nursing is one of the largest educators of nurses in the United States.
