Vice President of Legal Affairs

The Vice President of Legal Affairs is responsible and accountable for the strategy and delivery of the Risk Management, Workers Compensation and Legal Services functions throughout the corporate healthcare delivery system. Plans, organizes and directs all aspects of legal services, risk management, and other related assigned areas, activities and programs. Develops strategies for implementing solutions that achieve, support and enhance corporate strategic plans, vision, mission and values. Responsible for management of all claims and potential claims against or by Med Center Health.
Minimum Qualifications Five years as a licensed attorney required. Five years of increasingly responsible healthcare experience involving clinical, risk management, compliance, or equivalent experience required. Juris Doctor (JD) from a law school approved by the American Bar Association or Association of American Law schools required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Membership in the State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky required. Kentucky RN license or RN license in a State recognized by the Kentucky Nurse License Compact Act (OR) similar healthcare license required. Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.
