We are looking for a dedicated Vice President of Operating Room Transformation like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Domain Leader and Vice President of Operating Room (OR) Transformationwithin Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) is a role responsible for leading the digital transformation of the HCA Healthcare’s Operating rooms. This will include the development and implementation of digital and AI products specific to OR throughput, operations, scheduling, staffing, and care team and provider experience. The VP will also evaluate the underlying technology systems and directly influencing our data strategy in this space. This role reports to the DT&I VP of Product, manages multiple Product Owners who are responsible for the use case pods, and works closely and collaboratively in partnership with both DT&I and business unit leaders. The Domain owners will also dotted line report to the business unit sponsor and they will collectively, with the support of the DT&I governance committee, set the strategy for OR transformation. DT&I’s mission is to bring innovative technology solutions to the clinical, operational, and administrative frontline of HCA, re-shaping the processes of healthcare to improve outcomes for patients, empower clinicians with insights, and drive greater efficiency for all. In this role the VP will be responsible for innovating our IRC processes, making them more intelligent, impactful, and efficient. In so doing will help our operators and leaders provide the best care possible, improve our financial and operational outcomes, and help colleagues and have a better experience in their work. Key Responsibilities: + Lead a team of Product Ownersto design, test, and implement technology solutions that improve the operations of our operating rooms and where appropriate other procedural areas. + Translate the business goals of the OR Business Unit (BU) sponsors into Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the respective domain. + Set strategy for use cases (i.e., break down domain-specific business problems into a sequence of discrete use cases) that pods can tackle to move the OKRs forward, cascading domain-level OKRs to pod-level OKRs. + Lead the domain’s Quarterly Business Review (QBR) by defining and presenting quarterly priorities, use case proposals, and resource requests in the QBR memo to the DT&I Governance Committee and domain BU Sponsor. + Reallocate pod resources on a quarterly basis to better meet evolving OKRs and use case portfolio. + Unblock Product Owners and provide coaching and management support to help them excel in their roles. + In partnership with the BU sponsor, will lead domain-wide scaling and adoption of AI solutions, ensuring successful implementation and integration. + Monitor pods’ OKR progress and provide support where needed to help pods meet their OKRs. + Ensure coordination and collaboration across pods and in coordination with other key domains (including data product and other pods) to ensure successful delivery of AI applications and use cases that align with the business goals of the entire organization + Build a culture of accountability and ownership by setting clear expectations and ensuring agile processes are in place Role Qualifications: Experience: + At least 15+ years of progressive hospital operations experience with specialization in operating room management and optimization is required. + Deep familiarity with all aspects of OR operations and processes, including how these areas operate in support of broader hospital operations and other sites of care and how value is created by these functions. + Experience as an executive leader (hospital-based operations experience is preferred) with responsibility for P&L and/or key performance indicators is helpful. + Experience with digital product initiatives and driving successful adoption of products and solutions at scale. + Working knowledge of technology and emerging data science, machine learning, predictive modeling, and other digital / analytical technologies. Skills: + Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various departments, levels of complexity, and proven credibility to drive product decisions and unblock any domain obstacles. + Demonstrated dedication to value impact tracking and driving adoption and scaling of proven solutions, ensuring successful implementation and integration of AI and non-AI solutions. + Strong analytical skills to direct a domain toward the right decisions in the shortest possible time. + Experience with coaching employees and helping them to adopt a product and solution-oriented mindset. + Demonstrated ability to influence multiple levels of the organization to test and adopt transformation methods of operating. + Demonstrated willingness to question norms and standards, and challenge institutions inside and outside the company. Education: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in nursing or other clinical experience is required + Master degree in business, finance, or process improvement is preferred + Certification in digital product management and strategy or equivalent training is preferred. Success Outcomes: + Achievement of domain OKRs and business objective targets that builds trust with the OR BU Sponsor. + In partnership with the VP of Operations and VP of Adoption and Scaling, successful adoption and scaling of use cases. + Effective and efficient usage of domain resources and collaboration across domains and teams. + Fostering of collaborative, transparent, and innovative and transformative culture within the organization.
