Position Overview: Oversees all Club operations and programs.

Supervision Received:

The Vice President of Operations reports directly to and receives supervision from the President & CEO on a regular basis.

 

Supervision Exercised:

The Vice President of Operations oversee all Club/Site Directors and the entire Operations team.

 

Benefits:

Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region offers medical, dental, and vision to new employees the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Our current coverage is with United Health Care.

 

The percentage the company contributes is tiered. Up to 3 years of employment the company pays 50% of medical, dental, and vision for the employee, 3-5 years it increases to 75% and after 5 years it increases to 100%. Spouse and dependent medical, dental and vision coverage is offered at the full expense of the employee.

 

We also offer life, Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability paid for by BGCPPR at 100% for employee only.

 

The organization also participates in a defined pension plan. This is a 401A employer contribution only. Normally, eligibility begins after first year of employment as long as 1000 hours has been met. Once eligibility has been met the Club currently pays 5% of your salary annually. In this plan we have a 2–6-year vesting schedule.

 

Additional benefits include 15 days of paid time off (PTO). This PTO accrues per pay period beginning at 90 days of employment. We have 9 traditional paid holidays beginning after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Management

 

Staffing

Oversee Club/Site Directors and assist in the implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services and activities that facilitate achievement of Youth Development OutcomesRecruitment, hiring, and placement of required staffEnsure staff are properly trained & go through orientationTerminations and disciplinary actions concerning staffManage, supervise, mentor, and support the staff on a day-to-day basisManage & approve vacation requests as needed Perform & deliver evaluations Meet weekly with Club/Site Directors to communicate & share updates on current projects/activities

  Programs/Grants

Go over all grants and programs with staff to ensure successful deliveryCommunicate with Development to assist in deciding which grants to pursueImplementation of awarded grants Writing grant reports as needed Ensure surveys for programs and grants are being done each semester and/or annually

Licensing/Standards

Uphold and maintain state licensing standards to include health and fireUphold and maintain Army School Age Program in Your Neighborhood (ASPYN) standards for all Kids Club 360 sitesUphold and maintain Alliance, BGCA, and BGCPPR standards

Resource Management

Complete and submit the Annual ReportPlan & oversee Professional Training Days quarterly for all staffSearch and source trainings/trainers and ideas to teach and develop staffMonitor & support Kids Club 360 recruitment with Directors to expand ADA numbersContinuously foster school relationships with Principals and Vice PrincipalsSeek out opportunities and develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, school districts, families, and community organizationsPlan and run annual events that relate to operations Oversee the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and other facilities as neededCollaborate and manage a relationship with the maintenance man at Early Connections around HVACMeet with Finance to access Profit and Loss at each site to manage appropriately Communication financial needs with Finance around events, trainings, maintenance repairs, and outreach events

Strategic

Contribute to short- and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management teamPrepare board reports and prep Programs Board member with talking points quarterly

Other

Host weekly Director’s meetingsMeet weekly with the President & CEO to discuss OperationsAttend all staff meetings & meet with all departments to keep updated as neededPerform all other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications

Qualifications:

Strong work-ethic and a commitment to the mission and growth of the Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Courses or minor in business is preferred.A minimum of five years work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization with a minimum of two years at the management level.Experience with youth development and Colorado State licensing.Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate stafff.Strong leadership skills (management/supervisory experience).Preferred to have been a youth director before.Mentally able to manage and handle stress appropriately.Ability to deal effectively with conflict and discipline problems.Must submit to and pass a background check.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, hear, talk, see, use hands, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. This position requires mobility. One must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Duties involve moving items weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Usual office working conditions with typical noise level in the work environment.
