**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Vice President of Quality is responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing all aspects of the quality assurance and performance improvement program within the organization. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Quality will be responsible for the development of an integrated approach to quality and patient safety across the organization as well as all facets of Quality Management, Risk Management, Medical Staff Services, and Patient Safety. In this regard, the incumbent will have responsibility for facilitating and coordinating activities in: 1) clinical excellence and patient safety; 2) process improvement and outcomes management; and 3) regulatory readiness. The VP will serve as an expert resource within Los Robles related to clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory and performance improvement issues, and activities related to accreditation. The incumbent will serve as a member of the senior leadership team of Los Robles and will provide support to the Quality Committee, Medical Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees.
+ You will develop, manage and sustain an integrated approach to quality and patient safety across the organization as well as all facets of Quality Management, Risk Management, Medical Staff Services, and Patient Safety the Hospital’s Quality Management program.
+ You will provide leadership and support for the quality assurance and performance improvement programs. In consultation with executive leadership and the organized medical staff, you will assess, design, plan and implement actions to accomplish quality assurance and performance improvement programs goals.
+ You will coordinate with corporate departments related to Quality Management, Risk Management, Medical Staff Services, and Patient Safety to ensure Hospital participation in corporate-sponsored programs related to the VP of Quality’s areas of management responsibility.
+ You will coordinate and facilitate all correspondence with regulatory agencies, including Department of Health, Joint Commission, CMS and others. Additionally, you dill assist in the integration of governance, managerial support and clinical processes that affect patient care outcomes as identified by the Joint Commission.
+ You will monitor performance improvement efforts, assess effectiveness of efforts and provides reports to medical staff and executive leadership.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Current California Registered Nurse license required.
+ Bachelors Degree required. Master’s Degree and CPHQ Certification preferred.
+ Minimum three to five years experience in quality management.
+ Minimum three to five years hospital management dealing with both internal and external customers, medical staff and patients/families.
+ Professional knowledge of nursing theory, practice and administration in order to oversee planning and implementation of care and analytical skills necessary to prepare analyses, reports, policies and budgets at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or in a health-related program.
