Vice President of Sales

About the Role:

The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for driving growth, managing and developing the sales team, and overseeing the sales strategy for the insurance division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in insurance agency operations, carrier relationships, and a proven track record of building successful sales teams. This role will involve developing and executing sales strategies, managing partnerships, and achieving key revenue targets.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team across multiple locations, including remote and onsite personnel. Agency Operations: Oversee the sales operations related to insurance agencies, including management of agency systems and processes. Carrier Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, negotiating appointments and contracts to benefit the company’s portfolio. Referral Networks: Develop and manage centers of influence (COIs) to generate referrals and boost new business. Lead Generation & Marketing: Develop direct marketing strategies and lead generation initiatives, leveraging CRMs and other tools. Product Development: Spearhead the development, launch, and sale of Managing General Agent (MGA) products. Sales Strategy & Execution: Implement strategies to meet monthly and annual sales goals, focusing on revenue growth and profitability. Team Collaboration: Work with internal teams, including virtual assistants and business process outsourcing (BPO) teams, to streamline operations and maximize efficiency. CRM Management: Ensure effective use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to track and manage sales activities. Other duties as assigned based on business needs.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 7-10 years in insurance sales and operations, with a focus on property & casualty (P&C). Strong experience with Agency Management Systems, carrier appointments, and negotiations. Demonstrated success in building and leading results-driven sales teams, both in-person and remotely. Experience working with virtual assistants and BPO teams. Proficiency in developing referral centers and managing key referral relationships. Experience in building MGA products and taking them to market. Proven ability to generate leads and execute direct marketing campaigns

 

Licenses:

Licensed to sell P&C insurance is required.

 

Technical Skills:

Proficient with CRMs and Agency Management Systems. Knowledge of sales automation tools and techniques.
