The Vice President (VP) of State Initiatives will play a critical role in advancing ClassLink's presence and sales at the state level. This position requires a visionary leader who will spearhead efforts to influence state-level policies, engage with key stakeholders, and drive business growth in the education technology sector. The VP will leverage their deep understanding of the legislative, regulatory, and political processes affecting education technology to strategically position ClassLink as a trusted partner across the country.



Key Responsibilities:

State-Level Strategy & Sales: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to drive sales growth at the state level, focusing on partnerships with State Departments of Education (DOEs), professional organizations (SETDA, CCSSO, etc), and other key stakeholders.Policy and Advocacy: Stay informed on legislative and regulatory developments, advocating for policies that align with ClassLink's business objectives and supporting the company's market expansion efforts.Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain a network of relationships with key policymakers, educators, state-level government officials, lobbyists and influential industry leaders to ensure ClassLink's solutions are well-positioned in the market.Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the sales, marketing, product, and executive teams to align state-level initiatives with broader organizational goals.Market Intelligence: Conduct research and analysis on market trends, competitor activity, and state-specific needs to drive targeted sales and marketing efforts.Revenue Growth: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities at the state level, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and expanding ClassLink's footprint in state-run education systems.


Requirements


Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or public policy within the education technology sector, with a focus on state-level initiatives.Network: Extensive and proven relationships with State Departments of Education (DOEs), professional associations, and key decision-makers within state and local governments.Expertise in Public Policy: Deep understanding of the legislative, regulatory, and political processes that impact education technology, along with the ability to influence policy decisions.Extensive knowledge of the Ed-Tech Marketplace.Integrity and Reputation: Demonstrated reputation for excellence, integrity, and professionalism in all business dealings.Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues to a wide range of audiences.Unwavering passion to improve classroom learning and pedagogy Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.Location: Remote position with ability for extensive travel up to 50%
