The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, design, development, implementation, and operation of all program areas managed out of the Office of the President for New York City Transit. As a direct report to the Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy , the Vice President also oversees special projects and initiatives, including project development, delivery, and evaluation. The position has additional accountabilities related to managing stakeholder relationships, directing risk assessment, and spearheading mitigation strategies. The VP, Programs provides reviews, counsel , and recommendations to the President and EVP on major initiatives which are of significance to NYCT, and cover topics such as, but not limited to , increasing fare compliance, implementing new technologies, improving on emergency management and preparedness, personnel solutions, operational efficiencies, etc. The incumbent will work to improve policies which support NYCT efforts. Education/Experience A Baccalaureate degree required. Major Field of Study Preferred: Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics, Mathematics, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning/Studies, Operations Research or a satisfactory equivalent ten ( 1 0 ) years of related experience and six ( 6 ) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity. Desired Skills + Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, together with demonstrated quantitative skills and proficiency in Excel modeling. + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the talent to communicate complex quantitative concepts in a clear and succinct way to internal stakeholders. + Strong interpersonal skills with an established history of working on projects requiring group consensus and cooperation among people with no direct reporting relationships. + Must be capable of building a strong and successful network, developing new relationships and influencing decision makers. + Demonstrated ability to work in team and/or group settings, including team process and staff development skills. + Ability to prioritize among competing needs and opportunities and manage multiple projects at the same time.
