Responsibilities
Assemble historical financial models using macroeconomic fundamental data, official reports, and local and international press releases and publications.
Conduct financial, statistical, and macroeconomic analysis on major global economies and markets, including the United States, main European countries, and major emerging markets.
Produce weekly publications and thematic research reports to shape the team’s macroeconomic views, including collaboration across product to support the firm’s investment thesis.
Support internal stakeholders and external clients by sharing macroeconomic views, including delivering presentations to large audiences.
Initiate and build relationships with clients to develop a network of contacts appropriate to the industry, country or asset market covered.
Identify and assess global macroeconomic trends, including expectations on economic activity, inflation, fiscal policy, monetary policy, and debt sustainability.
Develop fundamental macroeconomic models based on rigorous statistical analysis using Python, Matlab, and R to provide an assessment on the evolution of macroeconomic variables and analyze their market implications.
Communicate macroeconomic and financial developments and their macroeconomic and market implications to both external clients and internal stakeholders.
Create and manage complex datasets of macroeconomic and financial variables using Haver, Bloomberg, and official sources.
Interpret and analyze the impact of market-moving news across major regions, including economic and policy interlinkages.
Required Skills & Experience
Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or related: and
3 years of experience in the job offered or a related Finance occupation.
Must include 3 years of experience in each of the following:
Identifying and assessing global macroeconomic trends, including expectations on economic activity, inflation, fiscal policy, monetary policy, and debt sustainability;
Developing fundamental macroeconomic models based on rigorous statistical analysis using Python, Matlab, and R to provide an assessment on the evolution of macroeconomic variables and analyzing their market implications;
Communicating macroeconomic and financial developments and their macroeconomic and market implications to both external clients and internal stakeholders;
Creating and managing complex datasets of macroeconomic and financial variables using Haver, Bloomberg, and official sources; and,
Interpreting and analyzing the impact of market-moving news across major regions, including economic and policy interlinkages.
20% domestic and international travel required, as necessary.
