Vices President of Operations
**Vice President of Operations:** My client is in search for a critical member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic and day-to-day operational management of a vertically integrated manufacturing facility. This role provides visionary and hands-on leadership across machining, production, assembly, warehousing, and shipping, ensuring alignment between operational execution and the company’s long-term growth strategy. With a focus on operational excellence, the Vice President of Operations leads key performance initiatives, develops and empowers high-performing teams, drives continuous improvement, and implements scalable systems and processes that support quality, efficiency, and growth. **Key Responsibilities:** **Operational Leadership & Execution** + Provide strategic and tactical oversight across all core operational departments including machining, assembly, warehousing, material handling, and shipping. + Drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in all areas of the business. + Define, monitor, and achieve key operational metrics, including safety performance, on-time delivery, labor and equipment efficiency, scrap and rework rates, inventory turnover, and profitability. + Partner closely with the Quality team to ensure full compliance with ISO, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory and customer-specific standards. + Champion a zero-incident safety culture through the enforcement of best-in-class safety protocols and programs. **Strategic Planning & Organizational Growth** + Develop and execute long-term operational strategies that support scalable growth and market leadership. + Modernize manufacturing systems and implement scalable operational processes aligned with world-class manufacturing standards. + Collaborate on capacity planning, capital investment strategies, and physical footprint expansion. + Support acquisition integration efforts and scale operational capabilities post-acquisition. **Financial & Cost Management** + Lead cost optimization initiatives by streamlining operations, reducing waste, and embedding Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. + Manage labor efficiency, material utilization, and overhead costs to balance operational performance with product quality. + Collaborate with Finance to support accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cost accounting. **Systems & Technology Enablement** + Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of ERP/MRP systems to ensure accurate data capture and real-time operational visibility. + Utilize data analytics to inform decisions, resolve bottlenecks, and improve transparency and efficiency across the organization. **Talent Development & Leadership** + Lead, mentor, and develop plant managers and operational leaders, setting clear expectations and fostering accountability. + Conduct regular performance reviews, one-on-ones, and structured development plans to cultivate leadership at every level. + Build succession plans and cross-training programs to ensure depth and continuity in key operational roles. + Embrace and model servant leadership to empower teams and promote a positive, high-performance culture. **Continuous Improvement & Cultural Stewardship** + Champion a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and operational discipline. + Integrate Lean Manufacturing principles into daily operations to drive measurable gains in quality, speed, and cost. + Promote a culture of recognition by celebrating individual and team achievements aligned with operational goals. **Qualifications:** **Education & Credentials** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is required. + Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred. **Experience & Skills** + Extensive leadership experience within manufacturing operations, including significant tenure in executive or senior leadership roles. + Demonstrated expertise in improving operational KPIs such as OEE, cost reduction, and delivery performance. + Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. + Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing complex budgets and capital investment plans. + Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments. + Track record of successful ERP/MRP system implementation and optimization. + Experience within the flow control or precision manufacturing industry is highly desirable. **Compensation:** for this role would pay between $185k-$225k+ salary with a complete benefit package including health, life, dental and vision insurance and an aggressive bonus plus 401k match.
