The Victim Witness Assistance Center program is crafted to reduce the trauma and insensitive treatment that victims and witnesses may experience in the wake of a crime. The ideal candidate is proficient in the use of digital technology. Case management, evidence and information exchange is digital. Basic knowledge of legal terminology and procedures will help you be successful in this role. This position will be based out of our Nevada City office and will support caseloads in both Truckee and Nevada City, with travel to Truckee once per week. As a Victim Witness Advocate you will: + Provide services to ensure that victims and witnesses are not further victimized. + Aid and supports crime victims throughout the criminal justice process. + Provide immediate and ongoing emotional and material support by offering resources and victim-related information. + Enable victims to cope with the trauma associated with the crime and its after effects. + Provide case updates, referrals to resources, restitution, court accompaniment and direct services.
