Job Summary/Description:  

Southern Arizona's news leader is seeking a dynamic video editor who will work on newscasts as well as videos for our digital platforms. We’re looking for someone who lives for current events – who gets that adrenaline rush from breaking news and who will hustle to get the video ready for our eager audiences. The ideal candidate will have experience with nonlinear editing software (Edius experience preferred), creativity, and drive. This person will work with our newscast producers and directors to craft great shows and with our digital team to craft streaming and on-demand content. This position is ideal for someone who wants to improve upon multiple skills to make themselves a well-rounded journalist.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Communicate well with producers in order to find and select video content sources
• Edit video
• Coordinate with digital producers on cross-platform content
• Communicate with anchors, assignment desk, field crews, and others to ensure execution of a high-quality newscast
• Work independently and with others

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Self-starter skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy while working to meet daily deadlines
• Non-linear editing skills (Edius experience preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related field preferred
