Job Summary/Description:
WRDW-TV/WAGT-TV has an immediate opening for a full-time video editor/videographer. Applicants should be highly skilled in non-linear editing, be able to work independently and with others and work quickly with attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated knowledge of quality lighting, audio, and multi-camera angles is a must. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, esp. Premier, Photoshop, AE, Acrobat, and knowledge of media law is a plus.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Shooting and editing local video and interviews for daily local newscasts, and longer-form investigative reports, working solo or with a reporter
- Operating cameras for live shots on scheduled events and breaking news
- Capturing quality video, lighting, and audio
- Collaborating with reporters and news managers and other newsroom members toward the goal of selecting and editing the best visuals to represent newscast content
- Working with accuracy and attention to detail under multiple daily deadlines
- Manage time/resources to stay within set deadlines
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite esp w/Premiere, Photoshop, AE, Acrobat, Knowledge and understanding of media law
- Must be able to carry up to 35 pounds of equipment
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Applicants should have a degree in journalism or mass communications with a concentration on video production or have equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of non-linear editing equipment and professional video camera equipment is a must
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite esp w/Premiere, Photoshop, AE, Acrobat, Knowledge and understanding of media law
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
- The position requires a valid driver's license and a good driving record
