About the Role & Team

With a strong understanding of Video Systems Design theory and practice, you will provide technical design expertise in the areas of media playback, programming, routing, and displays technology.

This is a casual temporary/seasonal role that will report to the Manager, Video Systems Design

What You Will DoParticipate in project's creative development and defines scope by identifying system needs and functions based on creative goalsDevelop & execute the video system designs for live shows and facility infrastructure as assigned.Provide an integrated structure throughout the entire process of development through implementation of live show entertainment product, and development of equipment and labor budgetsCreate a design package as a living document assembled along with the show development and production from initial concept and pitch phaseGuide design progress through buy off, procurement, installation, and test & adjust, programming, rehearsals and opening, concluding with As-Built documentation for operating partners at the venuePartner with CAD department to ensure 3D modeling requirements are met/delivered to Media DevelopmentFunction as primary interface between Creative and Technical with regard to media creation/playback/quality of media delivered by Media DevelopmentDesign appropriate systems for shows and/or facility infrastructure that address site and venue operational needsCreate design drawings: Plans, Line, Layouts, 3D pre-visualization, Occlusion Assessment, BTU/Power/Weight load estimates, etc.Work with Procurement, Technical Direction, and Production to comply with Company buying standards and schedule of receiving equipment/products/etc.Assist Technical Direction staff with Video Integrator Management, Factory Acceptance Testing and Sight Acceptance TestingOversee the installation, test & adjust and programming of required elementsProvides support through programming, training, rehearsals and opening of showResearch video and display technologies in support of design effortConduct ongoing entertainment show quality evaluations (ASQA Reports) of existing entertainment offerings to assist with maintaining the original entertainment show intent and exceptional qualityPartner with Consultant Video Designers and vendors to ensure Disney quality, compatibility, training and proper documentation of all video services delivered

Required Qualifications & Skills3+ years experience in video systems design in live show/theatrical production, live event production, technical, and stage management productionAdvanced experience with most video delivery systems, such as, LED monitors and screens, and high-powered projectorsAdvanced comprehension of the various formats for video content creation and compatible delivery systems in both file delivery and live delivery environment, and understanding of SMPTE standardsUnderstanding of video distribution and routing systems, including advanced network setup, advanced signal flow, file management, and advanced Video programming methodsMust be able to read architectural blueprints and interpret electrical drawingsProficiency with CAD drafting programs both 2D and 3DGeneral understanding of 3D and UV workflow and principals of Projection Mapping on a large scale.Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and frequent extended international travel

Preferred Qualifications & SkillsKnowledge of TWDC Standards and/or Industry StandardsFluency in any additional languages (Mandarin, French, Japanese, Spanish, etc.)

Required EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the technical aspects of Video/Broadcast Production, or Theater Arts
