**About the Position:**
Develop and execute digital media production assignments (#1 – videos of selected Stanford humanist and social scientist professors, #2 – videos of selected SUL staff members, #3 capture videos of selected events; in each of programs #1 & #2 up to at least 12 videos each per year) requiring fully developed skills and understanding of area of specialization to promote Stanford University Libraries’ resources, services, staff, and users. Partner with internal and external clients regarding digital media equipment and services. Serve as an in-house digital media expert for Stanford University Libraries.
**Core Duties*:**
+ Research, prepare and produce digital media for instruction, promotional programs, location and studio programs, live video conferences and webcasts, live-on-tape studio, and/or other communicative purposes for both internal and external audiences; these products will be mounted in the SUL website and, if applicable, social media platforms.
+ Partner with SUL management and specialist staff on strategic and creative approaches to digital media projects involving abstract or technical content to meet objectives and within time and cost constraints: articulating the production process and expectations, communicating issues, providing status updates, and suggesting appropriate methods for improvement.
+ In concert with SUL LEG members, develop and market digital services to internal clients to create visual content, including video and images and provide best practice standards that foster photographic and video excellence.
+ Manage and conduct all aspects of capturing, recording, and transmitting of all digital media productions, video and/or images.
+ In concert with others on the SUL tech teams, make recommendations for purchases and repairs of digital media equipment. Diagnose and resolve digital media system problems. Create cost estimates for different equipment options. Provide stewardship of university resources.
+ May produce high-quality post-production and editing to ensure a quality product and an accurate depiction of content. May review and edit masters to meet SUL’s needs; properly store, label, and archive of masters and edited masters within SUL’s digital storage and retrieval systems.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**Education and Experience:**
**·** Bachelor’s Degree
**·** Relevant technical experience with examples of documentary candidates have made at a professional level
**Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Advanced technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or digital media control software.
+ Strong knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery and other production formats.
+ Broad knowledge of all aspects of professional quality productions, including field and studio camera, lighting, sound and editing,
+ Understanding of online video environment and online distribution.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform repairs on a wide variety of audio, visual and computer equipment.
+ Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
+ Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy are required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
+ Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
+ May require experience planning, coordinating, and executing archival digitization projects.
+ Familiarity with languages from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania as well as the Nordic nations with at least one of these is required
+ Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, digital – and creative thinking and approach to digital media projects
+ Strong management skills, ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish working independently and/or collaboratively with different teams
+ Knowledge of video trends and best practices in the industry
**Other Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
· Deep knowledge of Stanford as a university and as a community
· Adequate knowledge of mores of higher education institutions
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
+ Frequently stand/walk, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, and reach/work above shoulders.
+ Occasionally sit, twist/bend/stoop/squat.
+ Visual acuity including color vision.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license.

**Working Conditions:**
+ Occasionally work on weekends, evenings, holidays, and flexible shifts.
+ May have exposure to high voltage electricity, noise > 80dB TWA, confined spaces, and working at heights above 10 feet.

The expected pay range for this position is $98,730 - $119,197 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
