Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Virology Scientist to join our cutting-edge lab. The successful candidate will maintain testing reagents and supplies, assist in performing assigned laboratory tests, and understand and execute basic laboratory techniques and procedures as per training and SOPs. This role requires adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and thorough documentation review for accuracy and completeness. The Virology Scientist will compile and report laboratory test results, assist in laboratory investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain testing reagents and suppliesAssist and perform assigned laboratory testingUnderstand and perform basic laboratory techniques/procedures as per training and SOPsApply current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to assigned workReview documentation for accuracy and completenessCompile and report laboratory test resultsAssist in laboratory investigationsAlert supervisory personnel of known or suspected quality problemsInitiate maintenance work orders when neededContribute and participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP)Understand and comply with company policies and procedures including Safety, SOPs, and cGMPsLearn and comply with regulatory requirements such as USDA, FDA, EUPerform assigned work in a safe manner and recognize potential safety hazardsVerify and validate data entry in Laboratory Information Management SystemsParticipate in troubleshooting and problem-solving for routine tests and processesDemonstrate technical awareness using data, good judgment, and experienceCommunicate effectively between departments, shifts, and employeesEssential SkillsBachelor's degree in biological sciences or chemistryOne to two years of relevant experienceExperience with mammalian cell culture and basic virology techniquesCompetent using Windows-based applicationsBasic virology and microbiology techniques and knowledgeAseptic techniqueExcellent organizational skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with mammalian cell culture and viral assaysGLP documentation experienceWork Environment
The lab is located on the ground level and down a long hallway. It is very clean as it handles virus samples for the site. The lab is equipped with top-of-the-line, cutting-edge equipment. The campus is large and offers a great place to work, including a recently renovated employee cafeteria. This position is open to contractors as well.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
