DAY SHIFT - FULL TIME - 7AM-7PM
40 hours/week - (3 - 12 hour shifts, 1- 4 hour shift )
*Weekend and Holiday rotation required*
Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The VSC Supervisor supervises the Virtual Safety Companion (VSC and Coordinators) department and team members. This role supervises the day-to-day operations of the VSC department and clinical workflow process is followed, ensures that staffing is appropriate and serves as a point of contact for bedside escalation on assigned shift.
Essential Job Functions
Supervises identified associates that are assigned to the VSC department; recognizes and rewards team members, eliminating barriers, secures resources and promotes problem-solving; supervises performance deficits of VSC department associates
Ensures that all expectations for customer service are met; communicates with associates and leaders proactively, offers collaborative solutions as needed.
Demonstrates understanding of patient flow and the priorities for bed assignment to be linked to the needs of the sickest patients in the organization wherever they may be. Understands that patients requiring patient monitoring service have the highest priority for patient and bedside safety.
Prepares and distributes scheduling assignments. Works collaboratively with ROC leadership as well as other leaders on troubleshooting areas with staffing challenges
Supervises the 24/7 responsibilities in the day-to-day patient monitoring activities within the central staffing office, including supervision of schedules, meeting timelines, communication with managers, daily staffing needs, and assisting with escalation to nurse leaders.
Understands and assists with SafeCare investigations.
Demonstrates awareness and understanding of standard operating procedures and policies related to day-to-day workload and education requirements.
Ensures that all new hires are appropriately educated and trained on VSC workflow. Including an understanding of administrative requirements.

Education
Associates Degree in related field (required)
Work Experience
Experience working in complex environments.
1 year experience in a supervisory role with proven ability to work successfully with variety of stakeholders (preferred)
