For more information, please visit https://www.tamiu.edu/ This is a 1-year faculty position as a Visiting Lecturer of Physics and Astronomy. Primary duties will include teaching 15 semester credit hours (lectures – 3 credit/course, and labs -2 credit/course) per semester of introductory lectures and laboratories in Physics and Astronomy for science majors and non-science majors. Duties also include providing service on departmental, university, and professional committees and engaging in community and outreach activities. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. Required Qualifications The successful candidate must hold an earned master’s degree in Physics or a closely related discipline. ABDs will also be considered, but applicants must have earned a master’s degree before August 2025. We strongly encourage candidates with relevant coursework in Astrophysics and prior college experience in teaching at four-year institutions are required. Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
