The Agua Caliente Cultural Museum is a new 48,000 square-foot state-of-the-art museum, located in downtown Palm Springs, California and includes a large gallery for the story of the Agua Caliente people, a changing gallery to share exhibitions about Native peoples of the United States, a 1,000 square-foot store, education classroom, meetings rooms and an outdoor education garden.
Position Summary
The Visitor Services Associate position participates in day-to-day interactions with museum visitors in the admission area and the museum store. The individual should be comfortable informing and discussing a culture that may not be their own. The position will engage with many types of museum visitors and should be knowledgeable about the museum, it’s location, and the surrounding area in Palm Springs. The position greets museum visitors, processes sales, answers questions from visitors in both the admissions and the store and is responsible for learning and upholding museum policies and procedures. A successful candidate will enjoy interacting with visitors, be confident in handling cash, and ensuring all engagement with visitors aligns with the Tribe’s voice and direction. They will also be cross trained in the exhibition galleries, store, and welcome desk. This position reports to the Manager of Retail and Visitor Services.
