Posting Summary Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Visual Arts Coordinator (Form Design Lab) Reporting to Salamishah Tillet. This position will support the Visual Arts Director in daily tasks, including but not limited to Maintaining Visual Arts Studio, Community Outreach projects, and operating equipment.

This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:

Manage lab production (the lab manufactures and finishes hundreds of objects yearly). Maintain lab equipment and implement new technologies (such as virtual reality/augmented reality and digital fabrication equipment). Assist with outreach programming and hosting workshops. Provide technical and design support in collaborative projects. Interact with students (grammar school, middle school, high school, university), researchers, artists. Understand Fused Deposition Modeling and Stereolithography printing and are familiar with 3D modeling software (Revit, 3D Studio Max, Fusion 360, and Meshmixer) within a network/cloud environment. Will make day-to-day decisions about the most efficient way to use resources and recommend significant purchases (equipment, material supplies). Will need to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or software issues. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
