The Visual Effects Designer is responsible for the design, production, and delivery of digital media content for Disney theme parks, events, and shows worldwide.

This is a casual temporary/seasonal role, and you will report to the Visual Media Studio Manager.

What You Will Do

Create visual media through the use of 3D and/or 2D toolsets such as Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D, Maya, and Unreal EngineAssist the editorial process with motion graphic enhancementsExecute rendering and quality control of show files using department render facilitiesCollaborate and interact with the overall project team, department staff, and members of other Live Entertainment disciplinesAddress requirements of the media to be created and provide inputWork under the guidance of producer and project leadersDevelop and create assets for digital media productionPartner with outside resources and/or vendorsServe as a resource for Producers as necessary to provide technical advice

Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Visual Effects and motion graphics designStrong knowledge and proficiency in two or more of the following software: Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe After Effects, Photoshop), Cinema 4D, Maya, and Unreal EngineProven professional Visual Effects design and animation experienceDesign experience in 2D graphics and illustration and/or 3D ModelingExperience with digital compositing, digital media formats, codecs, keying, roto work, and resolutionsPortfolio of work and proven abilities to create quality productProficiencies in creating assets for editorial processesProficient in industry-standard plugin packages from Red Giant and Video Co-PilotAbility to work with a team to develop concepts and design elementsProven ability to communicate and present to department level ProducersWillingness for occasional travel to domestic and foreign venues for possible extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

Theme Park experience and knowledge of live event contentContent creation for entertainment media shows, events, and projection mappingExperience in advanced 3D modeling applications like MayaWorking knowledge of media playback systems such as Watchout, Hippo, VYV, and/or Playback ProBuilding environments and content in Unreal EngineRender farm and render management experience using Deadline

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience desired
