How will you make an impact?
As a Visual Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of completed plastic parts. Your attention to detail in manual inspection, packing, and machine operation will directly contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of the production process. By maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and possibly training new team members, you will help foster a safe and productive environment.
What will you do?
In-Process Inspection: Perform frequent visual inspections of plastic parts, checking for defects such as discoloration, shorts, burns, contamination, sinks, splay, delamination, etc.Data Recording: Accurately document any information regarding product quality or job performance as required by management.Packing: Transfer inspected products into shipping containers, prepare shipping labels using SAP, and stack boxes on pallets for transport. Ensure all products are properly weighed and labeled.Work Area Maintenance: Keep the production and packing area clean, including sweeping floors, picking up stray parts, and cleaning up any spills or leaks.Machine Operation: Operate manually operated molding presses as needed, including tasks such as removing molded products, packing them, and performing secondary operations like reaming, trimming, and hot stamping.Training: May be responsible for training new Inspector/Packer I employees.Sorting and Reworking: Sort and rework non-conforming products, document and label them correctly, and perform sampling and gauging as required.Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues across all departments to ensure smooth operations.Safety and Compliance: Conduct all job functions safely, adhering to all applicable state and federal safety and environmental regulations. Use appropriate safety equipment as required.Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.How will you get here?
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection role preferred.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Average or better math skills.Ability to stand and walk for long periods.Good color perception and manual dexterity.Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Ability to work in an orderly, logical manner with close attention to detail.Proficiency in English for verbal and written communication.Familiarity with personal computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP, and email preferred.Preferred Qualifications:
