Visual Media Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Visual Media Specialist is responsible for quality photography and videography of Lottery prize winners, Lottery events, and other Lottery content. Supporting the Lottery’s Social Media Coordinator, they will often quickly edit this content for timely posting on the Lottery’s social media platforms. They will maintain the Lottery’s photo and video archives, including winner photos, stock images and footage that can be utilized in Lottery produced content and provided to the media for news purposes. They will also support the Drawing Studio and Content Production team with the production of tutorials, informational videos and other projects as assigned. This is an in-office position, with remote assignments as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Photograph prize winners and record interviews with them in order to share these images and stories on Lottery owned assets and distribute to media

· Edit digital images as appropriate to prepare them for distribution and records captioning for identification purposes

· Participate in winner interview process with Customer Service representatives to assist in the creation of winner awareness content for social media

· Create a variety of social media content that tells stories about our winners and the retail locations where winning tickets have been sold

· Assist the Social Media Coordinator with the creation and posting of additional content

· Produce a variety of Lottery videos, including social media content (Facebook, Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), event recaps and tutorials in a variety of styles, lengths and formats

· Photograph and record stock images and footage that can be utilized in Lottery produced content and provided to the media for news purposes

· Maintain a photo and video archiving system to make the content easily retrievable when needing to fulfill requests in a timely fashion

· Provide set-up, audio/visual assistance and photography for special promotions, press conferences, and speaking engagements for the Lottery, including periodic off-site events and promotions

· Operate, maintain and secure photography and videographyequipment, editing platforms, and archived materials

· Recommend the ordering of new equipment and software as needed

· Assist all Lottery departments in producing a variety of materials, including but not limited to instruction manuals, trainings, and tutorial videos

· Participate in the conducting of daily drawings as needed

· Perform related duties as assigned

· Valid driver’s license is required with the ability to travel statewide as needed

· Must be able to work occasional events on nights and weekends

NOTE: Per the bargaining unit contract, the salary for this position will increase by 2% effective July 13, 2025.

· 2-4 years of professional or practical experience as a photographer, videographer and content producer

· Advanced level proficiency in social media, including Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok

· Knowledge and understanding of social media best practices

· Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish a working relationship with the general public, retail agents, and employees

· Social media copy writing skills

· Ability to edit video on iPhone using iMovie, or equivalent ability on Android devices

· Proficiency in video production and editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut

· Proficiency in digital imaging and editing software (e.g. Photoshop)

· Experience with cloud-based storage of photo and video files

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Customer Service skills
