Visual Merchandising Manager, Trade & Retail Marketing

PURPOSE
Create and drive the vision and strategy of the Visual Excellence for the adidas brand in Canada at both retail and key wholesale locations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Shape the consumer journey for stores in order to maximize sales across the fleet through optimal fixture and space layout.
•    Support retail and wholesale visual training materials, directives, tools, processes and implementation of visual excellence principles.
•    Lead and motivate the Store VM Champions.
•    Coaching of Area Managers and Trainers to drive Visual Excellence for both Visual Merchandising and In-Store Communication tools.
•    Identify training and development needs and develop guidelines and standards for training programs where needed for in-store VM teams and wholesale accounts.
•    Assess and adapt global/US visual merchandising objectives for the Canadian marketplace [both retail and wholesale] based on local commercial needs.
•    Support the NSO and GTM strategy on an ongoing basis by working with the NAM Retail Hub and design teams
•    Direct external resources [agencies/freelancers] to ensure solutions are aligned to brand direction. Partner with the relevant teams to create clear and executable directions.
•    Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
•    Proven understanding of retail needs with a focus on product presentation and merchandising
•    Strong conceptual thinking and design critiquing skills.
•    Ability to lead, manage and motivate internal and external project teams.
•    Highly developed attention to detail.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong presentation, planning, and analytical skills
•    Ability to thrive in a face paced, constantly changing environment.
•    Understanding of the Mall channel and Originals consumer with in that channel.
•    Possess excellent written, oral and visual communication skills.
•    Moderate domestic travel required: approximately 15%
•    Some hands-on retail floor experience preferred.
•    Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite as well as Microsoft Creative Suite

 

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS
•    Bachelor's degree (B.A.l, with an emphasis in Marketing/Business/Sales preferred, and
•    Minimum of three (3] years retail marketing experience.
•    Experience in project management and scheduling skills - ideally in developing POS elements.
•    Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
 

 

 

*We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Woodbridge, Ontario.
