Reuters is looking for a dynamic Visual Producer with a creative flair and strong teamwork skills to join our Iberia team in Spain. This role requires passion for Spanish news and culture, agility in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in new technologies and digi-friendly stories. The successful candidate needs a high level of English both written and spoken. With a focus on innovative storytelling, the successful candidate will be a self-starter skilled in producing and creating standout content for a diverse global audience.

The role will be based either in Madrid or Barcelona.

About the Role

As a Visual Journalist, you will:

Process daily content, editing and script writing in EnglishProvide creative storytelling ideasReact quickly to breaking newsCreate and maintain visual planning entries for the day-to-day schedules as well as for long-term planningDemonstrate your enthusiasm for Spanish news and culture to infuse stories with local flavourIdentify news stories and interesting story angles, coordinating between visuals and text teams sometimes across the regionCollaborate closely with Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon bureaus and production teams in LondonTackle stories from a diversity of viewpoints, experiences, and perspectives.Travel, on occasion, to back up bureau in other countries

About You

To be our Visual Journalist, you will likely have:

Excellent news judgement and a passion to deliver stories to our clientsAbility to write scripts with a high level of EnglishAbility to use a video camera is a bonus but not a must haveGrit, the ability to think on your feet and deliver despite challenging conditionsEagerness to participate in planning and organisation of news storiesCreativity – that special touch that can make our story telling stand outBe calm under pressure and enthusiasticStrong team player, able to collaborate with text and photos across multiple officesBilingual level of spoken and written English, high level of Spanish with Portuguese or any other European language a bonus
