About the Program:
Vital Strategies offers students the opportunity to contribute to real time projects that advance health equity and build strong public health systems. Throughout the summer, you will meet with organizational leadership, participate in professional development sessions and strengthen critical, technical and operational skills through engaging, meaningful work assignments.
The Opportunity:
Vital Strategies’ Partnerships and Development (P&D) team works across the organization’s divisions and offices to advance global revenue growth and diversification goals. P&D leads end-to-end proposal development, development and execution of program growth strategies, and robust donor stewardship. The P&D Summer Associate will conduct desk research, assist in proposal development, and play a key role in selected special initiatives for the P&D team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct donor and market research for Resource Development Plans, support with ad hoc desk research for proposals
Support proposal development tasks and shadow proposal managers to learn end-to-end proposal process
Develop understanding of global health funding landscape by attending external events and webinars and sharing insights with P&D team, and scanning news platforms and routinely sharing relevant articles and information with team
Support development of partnerships collateral, such as program description briefs, pitch decks, and concept notes
Lead relevant special projects such as mapping shifts in the global health sector and conducting landscape mapping for global public health interventions and use cases, and other areas, tailored to candidates’ interests and skills.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience -
Graduate student pursuing a degree in global public health, nonprofit management, international development, global public policy, international affairs, business or related field(s)
Skills and Knowledge -
Excellent organizational skills and ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in an international team environment and with solid interpersonal and communication skills; and
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
