Job Summary

The Vocational & Education Specialist will be responsible for placing CHNY youth in suitable vocational training, post-secondary education, career technical training or certificate training opportunities. Responsibilities include developing quality vocational, technical or other appropriate placement career learning opportunities/partnership for CovWorks program participants. This position will be reporting to the Academic Training Manager.

They will work in conjunction with the Intake Coordinator, Career Readiness Instructors, Residential Advisors and Case Managers to ensure appropriate relationships are developed with CovWorks youth. They will also work closely with the compliance team to ensure that data metrics are met.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for placing CovWorks Career readiness graduates within 30 days of training completion

• Ensures placements are entered into ETO system once appropriate verification documentation has been received • Responsible for conducting workshops and seminars to promote vocational opportunities and funding

• Responsible for organizing tours of local training programs, community partners offering vocational and certification trainings, and other educational institutions

• Responsible for organizing onsite events with local career technical training and credentialing institutions

• Responsible for ensuring graduates placed remain placed throughout follow-up service period

• Ensures non-placements notes are entered in ETO system trainee follow-up services documents

• Ensures placement and follow-up procedures are carried out according to CHNY guidelines

• Develops at least one new vocation/technical training linkage per quarter that meets the needs and interest of CovWorks youth

• Responsible for working with manager on process scholarship applications for youth training needs.
