Sheppard Pratt School in Lanham is a nonpublic special education day school providing educational, therapeutic, and daily living services to students ages 5 to 21. Our tailored programs cater to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. What to expect.
You will provide pre-vocational experiences and coordinate arrangements for vocational work groups for students within the Sheppard Pratt School program.
Specific responsibilities include:
Assisting in developing relationships for new jobs and internship sites on campus and within the community. Assessing students’ vocational strengths and opportunities for growth to identify the appropriate work settings and groups. What we need from you.
One of the following combinations of education and experience: Associate degree in a mental health related field and 1 year of work experience. 3 years of related work experience resulting in knowledge of clinical terminology and diagnosis to effectively communicate with treatment teams. Must meet Sheppard Pratt’s requirements to operate a company vehicle: Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience. Have a valid driver’s license.
