The Vocational Specialist provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policiesProvides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. visits clients in their home and other settings required.Familiar with OMH regulationsResponsible for integrating vocational goals and servicesProvides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provisionPerforming routine clinical services as a member of the Team Responsible for charting client servicesResponsible Vocational portion or all of creating the service planResponsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs changeAdvocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possibleResponsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment statusFollow-up quarterly with all employed tenantsAssist with making monthly contact with tenant as neededParticipate in bi-weekly monthly meeting Participate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concernsOther duties as assigned Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.Must have two or more years’ experience working with persons who are seriously persistently mentally ill under the supervision of a certified rehabilitation counselor. Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in MS Word/Excel. Ability to research material via the internet.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Valid driver’s license is a plus, but not required. Experience working with different populations preferred Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred Company Overview
