SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Vocational Specialist provides rehabilitative services and consultation as a member of a mobile
multi-disciplinary treatment team. This role is comprised of 80% field work, travel to visits clients in
their home and other settings required.

 

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the ACT Team
members.
• Assists through all phases of the vocational service provision.
• Performing routine clinical services as a member of the ACT Team.
• Responsibility for the recipients and for charting services.
• Responsible portion or all of creating the service plan.
• Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change.
• Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible.

 

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• HSD or equivalent required.
• Must have two or more years’ experience working with persons who are seriously persistently
mentally ill under the supervision of a certified rehabilitation counselor.
• Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel.
• Ability to research material via the internet.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• BA degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred 
• Basic knowledge of human services
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
