Job Summary:
Passionate about vocational rehabilitation and eager to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities? We are seeking a dedicated Vocational Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to developing customized vocational plans, instructing pre-vocational/vocational skills, facilitating community integration, providing job coaching, and maintaining collaborative relationships with various stakeholders. Your expertise in assessing clients' strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences will enable them to achieve their personal and employment goals.

As a Vocational Support Specialist, you will treat all clients, referral sources, stakeholders, and team members with dignity and respect while ensuring strict confidentiality. With flexible scheduling options, you will maintain adaptability in work availability, including evening, weekend, and overnight shifts. Additionally, you will compile and review relevant medical, psychological, vocational, and educational records to create tailored programs addressing each client's unique circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide job coaching and on-site support to assist clients in learning job duties and developing natural workplace supportsCoordinate and facilitate work-based learning experiences, skills training, and community integration activitiesCompile client information and create individualized service plans for vocational and independent living goalsImplement creative strategies and accommodations to address unique client needs and learning stylesOffer comprehensive support services including transportation, benefits planning, service coordination, and crisis interventionFoster long-term employment success through ongoing job coaching and support plan implementationEducate employers on hiring individuals with disabilities and facilitate workplace accommodationsBuild positive relationships with employers to develop competitive, inclusive employment opportunitiesMaintain active communication with referral sources to identify potential clients and discuss shared casesDevelop expertise in disabilities, assistive technologies, and accommodations to support clientsEmpower clients by teaching job seeking skills, self-advocacy, and strategies for career advancementServe as a liaison between clients, employers, and support networks to promote successful job retentionRepresent the organization professionally and promote disability awareness through community outreachUphold confidentiality standards and person-centered, strengths-based service deliveryDemonstrate flexibility to meet client needs, including non-traditional schedules as required

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent certificate requiredAssociate's or bachelor's degree in an applicable field from an accredited institution preferredExperience in rehabilitation, employment services, case management, social services or other applicable experience preferred

Additional Qualifications:

Strong customer service skillsSkilled computer knowledge (Word, Excel, internet platforms, other electronic media)Ability to communicate effectively and accurately in verbal and written formUnderstanding of supporting individuals with disabilities and/or barriers to employment, education, and/or independent living
