DUTIES:

Execute daily service orders as required Install telecommunication hardware, including Category 6 cablingPerform routine maintenanceAnalyze connectivity issuesTest, locate, and repair equipment problemsDress, terminate and test cables and componentsMaintains telecommunications equipment and installs, rearranges and removes equipment and associated wiringVerify service by testing circuits and equipmentRead and interpret circuit diagrams and electrical schematicsWork varying hours including possible mandatory overtime, weekends and holidays, evenings, on-call duty, works between various office locationsParticipates in special projects as requiredFollow all company as well as US Government/DOE policies and proceduresProvide After-Hour Support Duties

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

5+ years of overall related experience2+ years of related telecommunications experience2+ years working knowledge of TDM networks 2+ years of experience with voice and data cabling circuits/standards such as: analog, digital, POTS, PRI, BRI, CAT-3, CAT-5, CAT-6, and Fiber Optics.Ability to communicate Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to work effectively as a member of a team to accomplish tasks and resolve technical issues. Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.Ability to work with power toolsAbility to work on a ladder as requiredAbility to lift at least 50 poundsAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q level security clearance

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience  Strong customer service experience is highly preferredExperience with basic data networkingExperience with various models of Cisco Voice over IP phonesExperience supporting a U.S. Government customer
