Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace. Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking an accomplished Volpe, Network Engineer – SME, to join our team in Cambridge, MA. This pivotal role is ideal for a seasoned professional with experience in designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated network infrastructures. As a subject matter expert, you will play a key role in driving innovative solutions and ensuring the stability and scalability of critical network operations. Responsibilities Manage Cisco ISE environment. Perform day-to-day activities required to manage data services, such as network design, implementation, and management, including troubleshooting complex network issues. Provide direct support to other departments regarding network operational issues. Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrading of network infrastructure as required. Work with all application owners and IT stakeholders to build and support a scalable, efficient, and stable network. Research, plan, design, and implement network technologies using industry best practices to ensure network operations meet business and technical requirements. Assist internal business units in collecting and documenting network requirements. Assist in developing network policies, procedures, and change management for network operations. Work with the virtualization group to develop, configure, and manage networking requirements to ensure interoperability between physical and virtualization environments. Participate in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity team. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. 10+ years of relevant experience managing data networks, possessing extensive skills and knowledge in network design, architecture, troubleshooting, and management. Must have Cisco Identity Services Engineer (ISE) hands-on designs and architect experience. Experience converting from IPV4 to IPV6. Experience with Virtualization networking technologies preferred. Comprehensive experience troubleshooting network issues that impact user’s productivity. Active CCIE Certification. Background check with the ability to obtain a Public Trust. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of internal and external routing protocols, e.g., EIGRP and BGP, QoS. Solid understanding of Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, etc. Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting. Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for this position, with the ability to work effectively with end-users, IT peers, and managers. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals. Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others. Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications. Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, experience working in a home office setting, and the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues. Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired. Good problem-solving skills: ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
