About this position

The Volunteer Program Specialist is an integral role supporting the overall onboarding process for volunteer programs at Robbinsdale and Maple Grove campus locations. The role contributes to the overall success of the Volunteer Services function by creating a positive volunteer experience by providing a high level of customer service, communication, coordination, and process improvement for new and existing volunteers. The Specialist role supports the day-to-day department workflow including the intake process and flow of new volunteers.

 

Requirements

Education

• Associate's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in social services, human resources or other applicable field preferred.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
   

Experience

Experience
• Demonstrated public relations and organizational skills.
• 2 years’ experience working with volunteers required.
• Experience in office organization and coordination.
• Experience dealing with diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Communications or public relations experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated skills in teamwork to effectively work with others to achieve business objectives.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Volgistics, Volunteer Works or other volunteer database software preferred.
