Job Summary To ensure the provision of effective and consistent cargo handling for all locations where Swissport Cargo operate, handling operations within agreed standards and to deliver the financial targets through policy and procedures that provide strategic leadership, direction and management oversight. Responsible for handling our customers facilities and maintaining safety, compliance and Customer Services to support and grow the business and always remain competitive. Lead all activities within the Business Line Cargo and proactively drive and support business development. Job Responsibilities Strategic Dimension · Define and lead the definition of Global Cargo Strategy. · Foster excellent relationship with both internal and external stakeholders. · Ensure implementation of an 'open' culture with a 'corrective action' and solutions-based approach to drive quality and deliver transparency. · Manage relationships with senior representatives of various key constituents including employees, suppliers, government regulators, airport authorities, local communities. · Implement a strategic approach to all Safety and Security requirements b ensure 'best practice' and in full accordance with all Regulatory and company requirements (aligned with the Corporate Security and Safety teams). · Implement effective contracts with all 3rd party suppliers and customers to optimize productivity, efficiency, safety and security and quality performance. · Develop and implement an automation toolkit to be used across NOAM, allowing standardisation and consistency of measurements and outputs. · Develop, maintain and assess the balance between commercial and compliance on a regular basis and ensure all stations recognise and maintain the balance. · Develop and implement a cost strategy to ensure continuous evaluation of our costs. · Overall responsibility for delivering our customers handling strategy, evaluation of station requirements in terms of staffing, infrastructure, and automation development. Operational Dimension · Represent Swissport Cargo towards IATA, regulatory authorities, business partners and other external parties. · Set targets, deliverables and mentor all direct reports to deliver Divisional expectations. · Initiate and manage all risk issues for the regional stations with continual evaluation, contingency, mitigation formulation and structural escalation for critical risk items. · Ensure that safe & environmental working practices are implemented and complied with and Swissport and customer standards and procedures are followed. This includes the correct use of safety devices, plant and equipment and the observation of safety rules by all employees, subcontractors and visitors. · Implement a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to drive performance and quality and ensure consistency of handling and service delivery. · Assign tasks only to competent and trained staff. · Escalates decisions that require approval to deviate from Swissport or local procedures to the Station Manager. · Ensure a credible and reliant audit schedule is maintained and evaluated against regular non-conformances, findings. reportable incidents (Safety and Security), etc. · Ensure that all incidents, and near misses are properly reported and followed up. This includes entering incidents reported by customers. · Ensure colleagues are treated fairly and equitably and in compliance with the Swissport Just Culture model. · Meet regulatory standards and ensure service levels and relevant operational targets (KPIs) are achieved. · Reduce the number of ACDs and LTIs across all stations of responsibility and improve YOY. Key Performance Indicators · Revenue · EBITA · Operating Profit · ROIC · Capex budget compliance · Quality Unit cost · Individual Key Performance Indicators Qualifications and Competencies · University degree or equivalent is preferred. · 10 to 15 years of overall business experience. · Solid track record of working at a senior level. This includes successful leadership and P&L responsibility with a strong focus on performance and profit improvement · Successful background in turnaround situations. · Advanced strategic skills and commercial acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams in a multicultural environment. · Highly developed interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple constituencies and mentor staff. · High energy, personal presence and maturity as components of leadership ability to facilitate the best decision making and achieve results. · Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations. · Personal and professional integrity of the highest order. Travel: · Able to travel up to 75% to support job responsibilities.
