VP, Cloud Application Architect

As a Cloud architect for Application migration is responsible for overseeing target cloud architecture, designing, implementation planning, to ensure it aligns with business goals, scalable, secure, and cost-effective while selecting the most suitable cloud services from providers to meet the organization's needs; collaborate with Application teams to implement and maintain cloud-based applications and services, optimizing performance and aligning to organizational guidelines and policies. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events._** **You're the one we're looking for if you: ** + Are comfortable tackling new challenges and ways of working + Are ready to move from traditional methods to agile ones + Are committed to helping us build technology product(s) that can scale and perform at high speed + Have tactical experience building out and engineering + Are ready to define your career path + Can prove yourself quickly and decisively **We'll depend on you to: ** + Lead and architect solutions that meet SYF business requirements to deliver business value by enabling rapid innovation through modern software development and delivery. + Support development of Cloud migration strategy and vision that delivers value to SYF customers + Leads creation and development of target architectural patterns(s) including representing to review boards for assessment + Lead creation, review and maintain detailed technical documentation for cloud architecture, deployment processes, and best practices. + Support development of product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition + Support, maintain and oversee Cloud migration roadmap to ensure alignment with line of businesses (LOBs), products, internal partners, and stakeholders + Perform Technology Alternate Assessment, create Proof-of-Concept (as necessary) + Provide guidance and direction to project teams to ensure compliance with the standards and best practices. + Collaborate with internal technical resources and third-party vendors to resolve issues and to understand the causes behind the issues and provide solutions. + Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned. + Maintain deep hands-on technical knowledge of AWS services, Application infrastructure and architectures. Continuously learn and be at the leading edge of industry trends **Qualifications/Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree with minimum 6 years of experience in Information Technology OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, High School diploma and minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology in hands on technical role + Proven ability to lead cloud migration life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management + Proven experience with cloud migration program in AWS with good understanding of Devops + A strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute strategic Migration plans that align with organizational goals and help to drive adoption from a product perspective + Proven understanding of cloud computing and Devops fundamentals, AWS technologies, and developer ecosystems, with the ability to effectively transpose technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences + Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to measure the effectiveness of strategic migration roadmap initiatives, derive actionable insights, and optimize strategies for continuous improvement + Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, to drive alignment and support for platform initiatives **Desired Characteristics:** + Minimum 2 years of experience with Devops, Continuous Integration tools + Recent experience with design, implementation of products on cloud and software solutions for Containerized, Micro services based eco-systems and Application modernization. + Experience in building products involving security related algorithms + Sound experience in building products involving encryption and tokenization capabilities + Experience with implementing data caching and in-memory technologies at scale. + Solid communication skills, highly motivated and demonstrate high level of initiative **Grade/Level: 12** The salary range for this position is **130,000.00 - 210,000.00** USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle. **Eligibility Requirements:** + You must be 18 years or older + You must have a high school diploma or equivalent + You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process + You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. + New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
