VP, Compensation and Benefits

Summary: : The VP, Compensation and Benefits oversees the design, implementation, and management of the Bank's and subsidiaries' compensation and benefits programs. They develop strategies to attract and retain top talent through competitive compensation packages and comprehensive employee benefits. They analyze market trends, benchmark against industry standards, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The VP, Compensation and Benefits also collaborates with other HR leaders to align compensation and benefits programs with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Compensation Management
+ Administers the Restricted Stock Award/Equity Program and other executive compensation programs.
+ Maintains all documentation, paperwork, and systems related to executive compensation.
+ Oversees the salary administration program including participation in compensation surveys.
+ Designs and maintains essential compensation elements including pay range structures, PAIP and Cash Incentive structures, through the use of market data.
+ Reports on the performance of compensation programs and provides analysis to Senior Management and Compensation Committee.
Benefits Programs
+ Collaborates with the Medical Privacy Officer to lead the strategy, design, and management of comprehensive benefits programs, including, but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement, leave management, life insurance, and disability.
+ Evaluates and implements cost-effective and innovative benefits offerings to meet the needs of employees and the Bank.
+ Ensures compliance with laws and regulations related to benefits including ERISA, HIPPA, ACA, etc.
Payroll Oversight
+ Oversees the payroll function to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of employee compensation.
+ Implements process improvements and automation in payroll systems to enhance efficiency.
+ Collaborates with Accounting department to ensure alignment with accounting practices and regulatory requirements.
+ Reviews monthly general ledger reconciliations.
Merit Program
+ Manages the Bank's merit program, ensuring alignment with performance management and overall business strategy.
+ Establishes guidelines, tools, and training to support managers in merit decision-making.
+ Analyzes data and trends from the merit cycle to refine and enhance the program.
+ Effectively communicates with employees and leadership about the merit process.
HRIS and Data Management
+ Oversees the management of compensation and benefits data in the HRIS.
+ Ensures data accuracy and integrity in compensation and benefits records.
+ Provides oversight for the creation and submission of government reports including EEO-1, Economic Census, and AA.
Leadership and People Management
+ Leads, mentors, and develops payroll, benefits, and HRIS teams.
+ Exercises the usual authority of a manager including staffing, performance evaluations, promotions, training, salary recommendations, terminations, and budget approval.

Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
+ Master's degree or related professional certifications preferred.
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in compensation and benefits, preferably within a financial institution.
+ Experience managing compensation and benefits programs.
+ Proven track record of developing and implementing compensation and benefits programs aligned with strategic objectives.
+ Experience working cross-functionally with accounting, legal, and other business units to achieve long-term success.
+ Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding compensation, benefits, and payroll compliance.
