What is the opportunity?

As the VP, Fintech Banking, you will manage and grow a portfolio of Fintech clients while driving the strategic vision for RBCx’s Fintech Banking practice.  You will act as a trusted advisor, offering tailored financial solutions, developing strategies to address client needs, and bring expert knowledge of the Fintech landscape to collaborate with key partners across the bank. With a focus on combining relationship management and strategic insight, this role will position RBCx as the go-to partner for Canada’s most important fntech companies.

What will you do?

Advance and execute the strategic roadmap for RBCx’s Fintech practice, identifying growth opportunities and driving innovation to address the unique challenges faced by Fintech companies.Manage a portfolio of Fintech clients, providing strategic advice, customized financial solutions, and introductions to relevant partners across RBCx’s ecosystemConduct financial analysis and market research to source and evaluate opportunities, mitigate risk, and deliver insights that drive client growthCultivate strategic partnerships with key Fintech leaders, investors and other stakeholders to support the development of Canada’s Fintech ecosystemServe as a thought leader and advocate for Fintech within RBCx and the broader innovation ecosystem, identifying trends and aligning RBCx’s offerings to meet evolving client needsActively participate in the Fintech ecosystem to remain at the forefront of market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

5+ years in commercial lending or business bankingDemonstrated experience in strategic planning and business development, particularly in high-growth sectorsExceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and with external stakeholders

Nice to have:

Prior experience as an entrepreneur and/or working in or with fintech companies with a strong understanding of the industry including key business models, trends, and regulatory considerationsStrong connections within the Fintech or broader tech ecosystem in CanadaFinancial analysis experience with knowledge of credit products
