VP, Global Head of Internal Communications

The Vice President, Global Head of Internal Communications sets and leads Chubb’s internal communications strategy and employee engagement across the company and supports several C-suite executives with numerous types of communications, including but not limited to organizational announcements, town hall remarks, HR communications and company news. Reporting directly to the Chief Communications & Marketing Officer, the Vice President is a member of the Global Marketing, Communications and Investor Relations Leadership team. S/He will possess a laser-like focus on improving employee engagement, setting editorial direction and amplifying the company’s strategic narrative to Chubb’s 40,000-plus employees in all geographies while serving Chubb’s senior-most leaders.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned practitioner who has worked in a global capacity and with high-ranking executives in highly matrixed B2B, B2C and B2B2C organization(s) – driving consistency and underscoring the benefits of the employee value proposition. The person will drive activities across the full spectrum of channels and platforms, new and yet-to-be developed, measuring their effectiveness and exploring new approaches and technology enhancements, including mobile capabilities. 

They will be responsible for producing bold, creative, strategic campaigns and deliverables with engaging content on the company’s priorities, what makes Chubb a great place to work, our digital transformation, and how we deliver a competitive advantage to our clients, customers and intermediaries. The ideal candidate must have impeccable writing and editing skills.

Specific Responsibilities:

Oversee and ensure quality and consistency of all internal employee events, programs, email messages, video scripts, etc., involving the CEO, COO, Chief Digital Officer, CTO, CHRO, CFO and other C-suite executives – including packaging speaking opportunities in an easily digestible and visual way that drives awareness and more collaboration among employees Work with the Creative and Video Productions Services team to executive-produce quarterly corporate global town halls, including executive support, e.g., scripting and Q&A, slide production, speech/presentation coaching and invitation and viewing room management. Gain an understanding of the various personas of our employee base to create compelling channels, content, messaging, packaging and repurposing of news and information tailored for these audiences – from individuals in the field, across all regions, newly acquired employees, corporate functions, etc. Lead the development and execution of Chubb’s internal engagement plan aligned with the company’s narrative to effectively articulate its strategy and successes Guide and progress Chubb’s Internal Communications Center of Excellence (CoE), enhancing its strategy and roadmap globally to: support the company’s evolution; address employees’ preferences for receiving and acting on communications deliverables; and promote cross-fertilization of comms and best practices across regions, functions and businesses  Lead and professionally develop a global internal communications team, including matrixed relationships in regions and functions Maintain internal communications stylebook and guidelines for all internal communicators and build awareness among all MarComms, Investor Relations teammates. Surface ideas and enhancements to stimulate employee experiences including programs, events and interactions that demonstrate the company’s ambitions and growth  Continue to evolve The Village, Chubb’s social/intranet platform, through both improved storytelling/editorial and, working in tandem with Technology, greater functionality, including AI tools integration. On a parallel path, expand use of a separate complementary intranet platform Proactively solicit input for deepening employee engagement across the firm working with all regional MarComms team members, business unit and functional leadership, plus the Technology, Operations and Digital Transformation teams Work directly with senior leaders to produce a wide variety of content in multiple forms to reinforce Chubb’s culture Manage and provide direction for the internal email platform used for large-scale messages, including CEO letters, key organization announcements, etc. Measure, track and continuously improve employee engagement metrics  Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus; 15+ years of corporate communications, PR agency, and/or journalism experienceExceptional writing and editing abilities, including spelling and grammar skills, with a meticulous eye for detail and accuracyExcellent verbal communication skills and ability to present proposals and strategies to top-level leaders as well as create engaging materials for all levels; ability to build strong relationships and trust with senior stakeholders, both within the global MarComms and IR team and the wider businesses and functions; a proven “influencer”Preferable industry background includes insurance, financial services, and technology with a heavy accent on highly matrixed global environments working across multiple time zonesM&A experience a plus, e.g., announcing and integrating employee bases from new acquisitionsInnovative approach to content types – thinking beyond the written word to consider visual, video, audio, in-person experiences and other channels and content delivery approachesCreative, results-oriented problem-solver with ability to operate across time zones in a fast-paced environment with resilience, intellectual curiosity and adaptabilityAnalytical thinking and ability to integrate input from multiple stakeholders while working on deadlinesProven ability to synthesize complex, at times esoteric financial and insurance-related materials and to craft creative, persuasive content for global audiencesStrong project management and organizational skills with aptitude for managing simultaneous projects in a deadline-driven work environmentDiplomacy and tact for managing matrixed relationshipsProficient Microsoft Office Suite skills; advanced skills a plus

The pay range for the role is $140,700 to $239,300. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
