Zelis Healthcare seeks a visionary, engaging, and results-oriented leader who seeks a role supporting a rapid growth tech-enabled healthcare company. The VP, Platform Engineering will lead a global software engineering team with end-to-end accountability and responsibility for developing, delivering and maintaining innovative platforms to support the continued growth of Zelis products and solutions. The VP will exercise keen operating discipline to ensure that best in class software engineering practices and procedures are used to deliver solutions including (1) adherence to robust architectural patterns that support the dimensions of scalability, reliability, extensibility, & reuse, (2) application of coding standards that support the dimensions of quality, reliability and optimized Total Cost of Ownership, and (3) implementation of agile development methodologies enabling efficient delivery of key business & technical capabilities. The supported production setting is a highly secured, high volume, 24x7 transactional environment. The VP will be responsible for leading a cross functional development team consisting of Software Engineers/Developers, Quality Assurance Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Project Management/Scrum Masters following Agile development methodologies.
This role will work cross-functionally across Zelis and will partner with teams across Technology, Product, and Business Operations to deliver commitments supporting: Technology Roadmaps, Roadmap Sizing Estimates, Delivery Schedules and Capacity Plans. The leader will require deep functional and technical expertise in delivering software solutions in a healthcare and/or financial services setting. The complexity of this position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative and collaborative. He/She will have a sophisticated ability working with other executive leaders to align, set, adapt, and deliver commitments supporting the most important initiatives enabling the organization’s success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead multiple software engineering & delivery enablement teams, including resource levelling, mentoring, enhancing, and maintaining best-of-class software development & delivery across multiple teams and disciplines
Drive agile project management processes to deliver high-quality code across multiple software development teams (including cross-functional & enterprise teams)
Collaborate with software architects, product managers, software engineering managers, and developers to optimize the overall software development lifecycle with an emphasis on productivity, quality, and automation
Develop environment and code management strategies to support software delivery teams; collaborate with Business Operations and cross-functional partners to develop informed Software Delivery Releases that serve as commitments to all internal and external stakeholders
Develop and implement Best-In-Class software development practices/methodologies in support of architecture, coding, and quality assurance; advocates innovative technology approaches that drive dramatic increases in business value, reductions in Time to Build, and Total Cost of Ownership
Act as a trusted advisor, build and maintain relationships with technology leaders, including the Zelis Engineering & Innovation Team (ZEIT) along with all business partners to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures the cost-effective delivery of technology services to meet those needs and responds with agility to changing business priorities.
Build and maintain a dashboard of Key Performance Indicators tracking the efficacy of software delivery / quality and the platform reliability of the supported environment(s)
Collaborate and build strategies with Vendor Partners to develop and execute against a resource plan that supports an annual budget in a cost-effective manner.
Provide proactive leadership, coaching, clarity of direction and career growth development to technology staff associates; take ownership and accountability for Vital Voices employee survey results and strives to develop an environment that is engaged.
Partner with People and Culture team and ZEIT Leaders to develop people priorities and plans, that align with organization strategies and look for innovative and meaningful solutions to the recruitment, development, and retention of the technology workforce.
Leverage influencing and negotiation skills across Technology and the enterprise to achieve business goals, cost-effective and innovative shared solutions.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience required.
Master of Business Administration and/or Engineering discipline (Preferred)
10+ years of experience in a Microsoft Development environment, supporting delivery of solutions leveraging .NET, JavaScript, SQL Server technologies
10+ years in-depth experience in leading teams, driving management of agile delivery practices
5+ years leading end-to-end software testing teams and building quality assurance best practices
5+ years driving full DevOps software development and engineering practices
5+ years of a proven track record of leading technology teams and programs with a budget dollar value over $5M/Year
5+ years leading production support teams responsible for surveillance, monitoring and remediation of production reliability events.
5+ years supporting technology enablement in healthcare or financial services industry required
5+ years supporting Solutions in an Azure / Cloud PaaS environment recommended
3+ years of experience in managing global engineering teams (specific India experience as a plus)
Diverse experience with a broad range of applications, development platforms, technologies, frameworks, and languages
Proven ability to manage multiple product and solutions while meeting aggressive release schedules
Strong technical vision and continuous improvement motivation and drive
Excellent communications skills, proven track record of translating the technical for non-technical executives

Primary locations would be within 100 miles of Morristown, NJ; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; St. Petersburg; FL; Dallas/Plano, TX.
