About position:

HP Solutions is a global business unit that brings together all commercial services teams across HP under one leader with a goal of providing a comprehensive portfolio of compelling services and solutions to our enterprise, mid-market, and even, in partnership with our strategic channel partners, to the SMB segment. To lead our solutions portfolio toward this goal, HP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Portfolio Management leader. The role of portfolio management is to provide oversight, guidance, and governance to ensure that the organization's portfolio is aligned with its strategic objectives, optimized to achieve the best possible return on investment, and effectively mitigate risks and maximize performance.

Supporting these objectives, the Portfolio Management function will be responsible for the definition, oversight, and continuous improvement of critical processes and functions across the multiple services lines (lines of business). While each service line is accountable for the results of its respective sub-portfolio, the overall prioritization of where we make investments will be governed across service lines. 

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Growth and Strategy to Execution Alignment: Portfolio Management is responsible for facilitating the execution of a sustainable growth flywheel by leading the discovery of dependencies, synergies, and dyssynergies, across the portfolio to deliver high value solutions to our customers.  Working closely with the head of Strategy, you are also responsible for ensuring that the organization's portfolio is aligned with its overall strategy and goals.Strategic Business Planning: Aggregate and create the HP Solutions plan of all initiatives, interlocking priorities across the portfolio to maximize ROI and competitiveness.  Do live strategic business planning, integrated launch planning and adjust as needed. Run 2x Year Launch & Customer/Partner Advisory Board Reviews and cross-functional PMT for Roadmap Interlock.Host Business Management Systems Data Insights Team: This team is comprised of a dedicated IT team and experienced analysts to enable consistent reporting of key metrics that will be used by multiple other organizations to manage business performance.  Responsible for Data architecture, Data Products, and Data Usage (funnel, orders, etc). Metrics and Performance Tracking: Portfolio governance is responsible for reporting on the overall performance of the portfolio, spanning financial health, sales, portfolio execution, post-sales operations, and customer satisfaction. You will host an offshore cost, data, and analytics team.Portfolio System: Deliver on a best-in-class portfolio and tooling. Build on the current PMO foundation to improve process maturity and governance to accelerate time to market and time to revenue. Must create and maintain a strategic portfolio management tool to align product portfolio, roadmap, investments, delivery status, business cases, customer adoption and business performance. Align executive stakeholders.Best in Class Portfolio Performance: Measure, track and provide visibility and insights so that the business achieves its strategic goals. Develop key leading indicators, building confidence in the future. Coordinate actions taken based on improvement recommendations. Deliver portfolio-level scenario modeling with risk analysis and ROI assessments.Portfolio Metrics and Analytics: Lead an offshore cost, data, and analytics team. Drive cost structure projects and build the business analytics tools and dashboards specifically needed for the HPS Portfolio and other Organizations.Portfolio Enablement: You will be responsible for providing the necessary process training, tools, and support to accelerate the execution of the HPS strategy. Everything from roadmap planning and product management methods to building flywheel expertise and deep solutions business acumen.

Experience:

Typically, 15+ years’ experience in IT technology or services industry product management, general management and preferably actual Portfolio Management responsibilities in a global software or services company.  Experience in portfolio roadmap planning, tracking and governance – preferably with enterprise-class platforms such as Planview, Aha!, ProductBoard, or equivalent.Extensive business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more engineering, technology, and product domains.Track record of business impact and bringing innovation to market to create value for customers.  Passion for solving customer problems.Proven ability to lead and influence in a complex, highly matrixed, global company.Experience managing large global teams and conducting business internationally; ability to recognize and leverage local cultures and capabilities to drive innovation in thinking and collaboration across a large, diverse team.Executive presence and strong communication skills; ability to influence CXOs internally and externally; ability to build consensus across the organization to make things happen.Track record of building high performance teams. Strong leadership skills – motivating, coaching, supporting teams in a global hybrid environment.

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems, identify opportunities, and develop effective solutions.Excellent process management skills, with the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously while continuously measuring and improving those processes.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and lead a global multi-disciplinary team of planners, analysts, and internal consultants.
