Summary:

The Vice President of Procurement will lead and oversee the global procurement strategy for all vendor relationships at Shift4, which includes a broad mix of both hardware and software agreements. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing best-in-class procurement policies, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective sourcing solutions that align with business goals. The VP of Procurement will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across product & technology, IT, finance, operations, and legal to drive business initiatives forward while mitigating risks, removing wasteful expenditure, simplifying our supply chain, holding vendors accountable for performance, and leveraging competition to ensure Shift4 receives the best value for money from our supply base.

Your role in our mission:

Key Responsibilities: Lead contract negotiations, vendor management, and procurement processes for hardware (e.g. payment devices, point-of-sale systems, servers, networking equipment, etc.) and software (e.g. SaaS, enterprise software, cloud services) Develop and execute a strategic procurement plan that aligns with the company’s growth objectives and technology needs Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive favorable pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and innovative partnerships Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize spending Evaluate Shift4’s current holistic supplier portfolio and consolidate relationships where appropriate Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations Work cross-functionally with product & technology, IT, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment on procurement goals and strategies Develop and implement procurement metrics and KPIs to measure cost savings, supplier delivery performance, efficiency, and supplier quality Oversee procurement risk management, ensuring vendor reliability, business continuity, and cybersecurity best practices Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation consistent with the Shift4Way Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to ensure the organization maintains a competitive procurement strategy Process Improvement: Continually evaluate and enhance processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies Lead disruptive change and process improvement within the PMO and the functional areas of the business that support program execution activities

Qualifications:

Required: 10+ years of experience in procurement leadership roles, preferably within the complex technology, IT services, or enterprise procurement sectors Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management for both hardware and software Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, IT licensing agreements, SaaS models, and hardware lifecycle management Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and operational requirements to drive informed procurement decisions Experience in ERP systems, procurement software, and data-driven decision-making tools Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field preferred Relevant experience within the Payments/FinTech industry

Schedule & Travel:

Remote work schedule requiring five days (Monday-Friday) per week Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to suppliers and Shift4 facilities as-required
